VILLAGE PLAYING FIELD

Negotiations are still underway with the local landowner to purchase the land on Showsley Road currently being used at the village playing field. A further offer has been made and accepted and this will be considered at the January meeting next week - 12th January - but it is far from straight forward..

Have your say on leisure in the district

Residents are being asked to give their feedback on South Northamptonshire Council's (SNC) leisure provisions across the district.

In order to shape what leisure looks like in the future, SNC are asking residents to fill out a short survey giving their feedback on how active they are as well as what they think of the leisure offering.

The vulnerable, disabled and elderly are being offered free home repairs following a partnership between South Northamptonshire Council (SNC) and Care & Repair (Northamptonshire) Ltd.

Northampton Male Voice Choir (NMVC) is challenging the men of Northamptonshire to join them and the wonderful soprano Emily Haig in a concert on 14 April 2018 to raise money for PROSTATE CANCER UK.

PHONE BOX DECOMMISSIONED

The phone kiosk on Bakers Lane is now the responsibility of the Parish Council, does not contain any British Telecom communications payphone and is not connected to BTs communications network.

It is planned to install a Defibrillator into the kisok in the near future.

PARKING IN A VILLAGE

Do you enjoy a good walk but find it sometimes difficult to park at your start point?

This certainly happens in Shutlanger from time to time but just to be clear the grass verges around the village are generally part of the maintained public highway and therefore can legally be parked on so long as you do so considerately.
