Your Input Is Needed- Dog Waste Bins

The problem of dog fouling in the village is increasing and there have been numerous complaints from residents and therefore the Parish Council agreed at its last meeting to finance the installation and ongoing maintenance of 2 Dog Waste Bins in the village. They are to be placed in strategic positions and the below locations have been identified by residents as possible locations.

  1. Adjacent to the Phone / Defibrillator box, there is a little grassed area to the right-hand side as you look at the box which could be suitable.
  2. Adjacent to the reading room, right hand side as you look at it, again a small grassed area.
  3. On the grassed triangle at the junction of Showsley Road and High Street.
  4. Opposite the grassed triangle at the junction of Showsley Road and High Street.
  5. On the grassed triangle at the junction of Showsley Road and Twitch Hill.
  6. Bakers Lane adjacent to the Salt Bin almost opposite The Paddocks.
  7. On Main Road opposite Stonehenge Cottage, near the footpath.
  8. On the verge next to the Playing Field.

These locations may cause some problems for some people, but the Council has a responsibility to make every effort to eradicate the problem and assist with the health and wellbeing of the entire village. The waste bin installation will be part of an ongoing program which includes several measures with the assistance and support of the South Northants Council Dog Warden Services, who will visit the village if an incident of fouling is reported by a resident.

Your opinion the location of the bins is important to the Council so please contact the Clerk as soon as possible to express your view. It is the intention of the Council to make the final decision on the locations of the bins at its meeting in May 2019.
